First merc and another ring ( hope'n its silver)

Had a pretty good lunch break. Found a 1943 merc, my first! And ring number 3 for the year. The ring looks like a child's ring, with my disc. set at 8 on the Cutlass I'm thinking it can only be copper or silver. Don't have my eyeball on me to enlarge the super small writing on the inside of the band. So wont know for sure till I get home. Also found a neat copper plate/tray with some designs on it. Not to shabby for 30 minutes :cool:

PS. Yup I can see the "rling " on the inside of the ring its Sterling Wo0t! Sorry no pics at the moment I tried twice, doesn't want to play nice for whatever reason.

Thanks guys, Yeah I just had that feeling like there had to be silver at this property. Lady my sister bought it from built the house in the 40's there is a old oak out back that no joke is a solid 6' or better at the base. So I'll be working it considerably with the new cutlass. Can't wait for the taxes finally show up so I can pound it with a machine that can reach the 10" mark or better!

nice finds...I found a silver ring last year in similiar shape, just do the boiling water in a bowl with tinfoil and add some baking soda and a little salt...cleans em right up!

Yeah the little copper plate cleaned up nice as did the kids ring ( that my six year old is already saying is hers ) take a look.
