This is by far my best CRH in which I did not find any silver. This time I did a larger amount. I got a box of nickels which is $100. There are many pictures to view along with a list of what I got. There was a lot of variety. This CRH had 3 new firsts for me. I found my first 2009 (D) Nickel. I also got my first Proof Nickel which is 1969 S. I also found my first foreign which was not from Canada. It is a Franc from Belguim from the year of 1952. I think this is a great way to start with one from that year.

Picture #1- 2009 D Nickel (First 2009 nickel found)
Picture #2- All of the minor errors which were found (most were misangled dies) (11 were found)
Picture #3- 1971 D Nickel (looks to be steel plated), Belguim 1952 Franc, ONLY canadian found from the whole box
Picture #4- 1969 S Proof Nickel
Picture #5- 2000 D Error Nickel. Error in LIBERTY. Error in misangled die. And error which looks like a weak die.
Picture #6- very major misangled die but not off centered Nickel
Picture #7- all the nickels that were pre 1960 that were found (32)
Picture #8 & 9- Obverse and Reverse of Uncirculated 1955 D Nickel. 1960, 1966, and 1968 D were also found uncirculated.
Picture #10 & 11- just 2 of the 8 toned nickels. Those pictures don't do them justice.

Thanks for looking and happy CRH'ing!!!!!

Nice finds! I've done over 100 boxes of nickels, and I used to keep the MAD strikes as well, but eventually you'll have too many to count, and they're only worth 5 cents unless they're misaligned by about 20% or more. Sorry man, don't mean to rain on your parade, just saying. I also only keep the nickels from years in which less than 25 million were minted because otherwise (unless it's an error), it's only worth 5 or 6 cents.

Check out some of my CRH posts.

Good Luck, and HH!

I've gotten in the habit of slow sorting my nickels,
Take a roll dump, pick out keepers(say 2)
Take 2 nonkeepers from next roll and go ahead and reroll roll#1...
And continue...

Great CRH!:wow: Congrats on the finds and the very cool 1952 Belgian franc.

Thanks!

I know they are not worth much but its just something cool. I know I will let go all of the nickels that are newer than 1958 but the older ones I will keep. Those were just my totals. The 2009 Nickels are the Nickels that I hoard. If I find one then I keep it. This was the lowest mintage year in around 50 years.

Nice finds, congrats!

Thanks.

That Franc is cool I haven't seen one of those in a box yet.

I have not even seen one of those Belguim Francs.

Nice proof! I just recently found a 69s proof!

Awesome!

I would do that. But I like to wrap the coins back up once I go through the whole box. In my opinion I save time like that.
