Unusual Items

Can you help me identify these 2 items. The Maple Leaf is about the size of a quarter and is quite a heavy metal. Any Help would be much appreciated.

First item is a part off of a sickle bar mower used with a farm tractor.

Second item looks like a major or lt. colonel's oak leaf insignia. If it's got gold, it's a major's; if silver, lt. colonel.
