Long signals one direction

Lately with my XLT I have been getting a lot of signals that are long in one direction (sometimes both). It makes it hard to pinpoint. These aren't long objects in the ground. If I manage to finally narrow them down, sometimes I will find a coin or sometimes trash. Anyone else ever get these? Got any ideas on them?

Yes, but it isn't. It seems to happen about every three or four times, usually on deeper targets. Did you ever find the lady's ring?

I get those sometimes with my Vaquero.
Maybe a drawn out halo caused by slow water movement in the ground?
Sometimes I can narrow them down by scanning from different directions.

I talked with the guy and now they think she may have lost the ring some other place?

They are very seldom where they think they lost them.
