Anyone interested, this is how I have set up my Equinox 800 for diving this summer. Still waiting on an aftermarket 8" coil.

Many thanks to Tony for the headphones and Phil at Meyers Detecting for the shorter shafts.

I have never used a double D coil in the water and this will be completely new to me. I have Tiger Sharks and CZ's.

Yes. I have no intention of taking this rig anywhere there is a drop off in which I would be tempted to take it deeper! It is staying in the Detroit River and in lake St Clair where the average depth is 9'.

I do not need a drowned Equinox.

With that short of rod and the size of the coil do you get any interference from the meter area?

None that I could tell. I took it outside. I did turn the sensitivity down two notches, but I am hoping that is because of the city. I have a longer one I can make. Until I try this in the field I won't be cutting the other shaft down.
