If any one knows the age of this that be cool, but even better if you can find a picture of Huffs truck stop.

Huffs

The company was incorporated in 1957, so it's from the late 50s or early 60s. The company registration is listed as "forfeitd", although I don't know when. The address would now be 43rd and "K" streets I believe, I think hwy 10 was renamed from what I could find.

I thought that token would have been from the turn of the Century (1890-1910).
I do not think there were many 5 cent tokens around in the 1950's but I am not an expert (yet...)

That bothered me the desgin is form early 1900s but the truck stop hand five different owners and Huffs was on the 50s and 60s

Even though the overall design and denomination mimics earlier tokens, I have to agree that it’s almost certainly from the 50s or 60s. Keep in mind that the “truck stop” concept didn’t really exist until the 40s, and didn’t proliferate until the Interstate highway system was initiated under Eisenhower’s administration. Since backwater found an example of another Huff’s token from another location in Missouri, it implies it was at least a local chain - there just wasn’t a demand for that many “truck stops” in the early 1900s...goods were still traveling long distance primarily by rail back then. Makes more sense for the 50s/60s as SpringfieldXD’s research suggests.
