I thought I would build me a water scoop for when I get to those Texas beaches. I gave it a 1.25 inch wooded handle. Rob

That looks pretty nifty! Do you expect the wooden handle to hold up? Good luck!

Rob, what kind of metal did you use, stainless? Looks real good. What are the measurements of the scoop?

Felix the handle will hold up. It is the same diameter used on the name brand scoop I copied. Supposedly the handle tends to float in an upright position.

Hoser, I did this one as a prototype so it is not stainless. When I do a stainless I have to borrow a tig welder to do it right. The size is 5.25 x 7 x 10, which is a little smaller than the original scoop. I had a picture of the original but don't know where it is. Rob

The scoop worked perfectly all winter. The handle held up no problem. Hunting the water line and shallow water was easy. Take a giant scoop, set it in the water and the sand runs out quickly without trying to lift the scoop. Rob
