World’s Smallest IHP!

Found at a local park - a Google search turned up several examples of these with posts fastened to the back and used as earrings, which would explain the glue on the reverse:

I would recommend spending time on youtube.
Otherwise, buy a copy of the Red Book

Indian Head Pennies are INJUNS
Buffalo nickels are BUFFS
Mercury dimes are MERCS

For United States coin ID, order the Redbook.

Some great looking coins in this thread!

Unfortunately IHPs usually come out looking pretty rough from most of the sites I dig. Here's the last 3 I found recently.. Two decent ones, and the last one I'll nominate for "ugliest IHP". I do have some more decent ones though. Will have to dig them out and get some pics.

Cool 1907 Indian, drilled and turned into a pendant - and it still has the hanger clasp attached! More details and pics about the hunt can be found here: Indian Head Penny-dant!

Probably some metal detector at the turn of the century scattering them around thinking "I'll scatter these around so all people will find is pennys and leave "

Nope just a spot where people spent and dropped lots of money, plenty of other coins came with these. Only posted the indians.

Found this 1881 IHP in a park that I thought was hunted out. She was deep at about 12 inches.

Gotta love these old pennies! I finally got on the board with one for 2020. Needs a little further cleaning, but not toasted anyway.

Here’s mine I pulled yesterday from the park down the street. I don’t think it was carried for long before dropped.
