Not all 1942 nickels are silver. The ones that are silver will have a large mint mark above the dome of Monticello.

actually,I have found contradicting info on the internet and I know that there are very coin savy people on here who are kind and knowledgeable on things like that.If we all felt like that we would have no questions at all on this forum.
