I'll take 2 of these

I love the politically incorrect rice cereal advertising!

Interesting observation !

I would think at that time the Post cereal company did not intend it as negative, anyhow I did a search and found an informative web page that tells the history of "Rice Krinkles", interesting reading !

and after they discontinued the "So Hi" promotion they used a creepy clown called "Krinkles"

Crazy how much hp some of those are making, but the fact they are being produced in large numbers pretty much means they will probably not skyrocket in the collector field in years to come.

I have a hard time keeping 500 RWHP under control on the streets I can't even imagine what 1200 would be like. And a top end of 200+ MPH. Where in the US are you going to be able to hit 200 MPH? I've had my 2015 Mustang GT 5.0L up to 155 MPH and I was just shifting to 6th. It drove like I was doing 55, but then it hit me what hitting a pothole at 155 would do.

Your a pony fan. Here is one still own. I don't understand the rage for exTreme HP. Most drivers likely do not track their cars. I like speed but only with safe limits to me and others on the road.

My neighbor a voice actor hit a pothole on his HD darn needed a new wheel it wobbled after 30mph.

Times have changed. When I was a youngin street racing was common. It was done with safety in mind of course, but it was common to see two cars go at it while cruising main. Today people freak. I'm not going to lie many of my races start on the street as a short show of willingness to race, then we go to a country road.

Once I hit 500 RWHP (rear wheel horse power) it became a matter of who had the better suspension not the most HP. I would just spin from 1st through 3rd until I start upgrading tires and traction items (IRS lockdowns etc.). I beat many big block HP monsters with my little ole 5.0 small block simple because they didn't know how to drive or spent all their money in the wrong place.

I am a Mustang fan for sure but when I went to buy my new street car I looked and drove the Dodge Challenger and Chevy Camaro before deciding on the Mustang. I liked the classic looks of the Challenger best but that thing was a hippo. 4200 lbs. Eeek! The Camaro felt like driving a go cart. It was fast but felt cheap. The Mustang was just right. Weight was 3650, interior was leather and well made. Good comfort optioned. And still ran faster than the Challengers and a drivers race with the SS Camaro.

I like HP like the rest of you, but I prefer older muscle. My project for the next few years is a '73 Ford Thunderbird. Heavily optioned car, air, cruise control, power brakes, power everything inside, leather seats. The only option not checked was the sunroof. All original with a 460-4v, C-6 automatic, with a Ford 9"rear. The two best things are the extremely low mileage at 13,864 on the clock, and we saved her from being scrapped! Our cost? $300.00. We have some restoration because it sat for 30 years on a slab but the carport was not long enough and there is some rust on the hood and the quarters need a little love, solid floors and frame, heck it still had the original bias ply tires (dry-rotted beyond use) and all 5 matched (full size spare). It is going to be a fun build.

Must admit love the new Challenger but not the dash, never knew weighed so much, btw the 1973 should restore nice .

here is one for you car guys what do you say about the new Lexus grill to me looks like a butt ugly cow catcher..but beuty is subjective...butt ugly grill.

I love the older cars also, my first car was a 56 Chevy 2 door sedan.
I dropped a 327 in it and totaled it 2 weeks later.

My brother-in-laws has been restoring classic cars for years. He's got your 55s 56s 57s and up all show room condition. Nomads, convertibles, hardtops.
He has an extensive collection of Belairs in the 60s with an original 63 or 64 409.
He's escorted the Beech Boys to concerts with his classics pulling up to the front of the stag and dropping them off. Kinda cool:grin:

You may have to update the prices in the advertisement...;)

Now that is some collection your brother-in-laws have !

If I remember right my first car was a 61 Chevy Impala with a slant 6, nothing fancy but the slant 6 was a nice engine, my dad sold it to me for just $100 when he was getting another car.

Here is a copy of the pic from the facebook link you shared -

My second car, 1957 Chevy four door black and silver. Could fit a half-dozen friends in that car easily. 327 camaro V8, Chevy, nice car, not a bit of rust.

I have some Polaroid pics.

I'm fixing to do a small build on a 5.0 this winter. Just going for a little power boost, gonna bore 40 over with 10 1/2 : 1 compression. Gonna go with the Gt 40 heads , reworked, updated ignition, aluminum 4 barrel intake with a Holley 650 carb. I've got most of the parts now, may tweekers a little as it goes. Still looking for something to put it in. That's the hard part.

I like rat rods..2001 4 cyls mainly....no washing or detailing, and who cares if some dummy pushes a shopping cart into it? Chick repellent too! So thats good...

Hey Mud, make some money from that, call Maaco, maybe they'll use it in a commercial, pay you and even fix it for free :laughing::laughing:

Pulltabby I couldn't agree more. Every time I see one of those Lexus's coming at me I just cringe. And to think a group of execs had to sign off on it thinking it looked good. :?::shock::wow:
