HI. New hunter here. Had my detector for less than a week now. First "hit" was a 67 Eisenhour dime. then spent the rest of the morning digging junk out of my yard.Ground is like rock this time of year so I haven't done much digging very deep, but am up to a couple dollars in clad. Oldest is a 65 Quarter. Only places around here are soft are the very well kept up yards. Even the parks are like rock. and I'm not comfortable digging in nicely kept grass cuase there is so little of it. so I'm just searching close to the surface stuff I can scratch up. I've enjoyed reading the stuff on this forum and hope this will be a fun hobby.
