Hello all you bottle lovers!

My daughter in England purchased these old bottles .The one to
the left is Firth A10 - Darlington .The one to the right has this strange
shape with a glass ball inside and the name Plews & Sons Bedale .
There is not much information in internet .Brewery Company founded
in 1795 was active in Bedale,Aiskew and LeemingBar until 1925 when finally closed its doors.
The glass is hand made with air bubbles inside.

The one on the right I remember finding when I was a child and smashing the bottle to get the glass 'marble' out to play with.

Commonly referred to as Codd Bottles.

Thank you Doug for the link.I will pass it on to my doughter.
She was at the flea market last Sunday in Bedale and purchased these oldies .
By the way, just as you said it.We also smashed bottles to take the "marbles"
out to play with them back in the 1950's in my homeland :yes:

I used to dig for those "Marble bottles" in Cornwall uk at an old disused dump. Always found more broken than whole.
