Was stationed there between 95 and 97 but wasn't into detecting at the time. Not sure how they would react to detecting on base but base housing I'm sure would be easy enough to get onto which pretty much surrounds the place. There was also a lake within a mile or 2 of the base that the AF used to hold alot of events and picnics at and believe had camping as well. Can't recall the name of it off the top of my head but I'm sure you could get there as well. That would be the best place I can think off off the top of my head but that was over 20 years ago as well. Not sure what's changed since then.
