Found on site with many WW1 items. Appears to be handle from a knife with blade missing? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Looks like an old pocket knife. Newer model.

I agree with the knife handle with missing blade, from a mess kit. These are often found like this with the steel blade rotted away, leaving the aluminum handle.
