Had a permission hunt set up for yesterday afternoon. Arrived a half hour early so went to a small neighborhood park and found a '71 Kennedy half dollar.

Went to the permission and the previous owner was a hoarder and I filled a 2 gallon bucket with copper and brass couplings. Also found 2 coin spills, 3 clad dimes and 2 nickels in one and 5 clad dimes, 2 pennies and a quarter in the second.

In the middle of the driveway I got a solid 87 signal on the ATP and uncovered a huge coin. It was very discolored but it appeared to have an image of a Shriner. I tumbled it and the Kennedy and it is indeed a Shriner token commemorating a convention or event held in Miami in 1971.

My MDing club is participating in a Gem and Mineral show this weekend being held in the local Shriner Temple so maybe somebody can share some information about the token.

I love tokens and this one will be a central part of my collection.
