My buddie found this odd piece the other day. Not even sure what metal it is looks copper or brass. Came up 12-31 on the etrac I believe.

Could it possible be a wax stamp?

It was found with rev war stuff

Any help would be great

Not sure. Kinda looks like an escutcheon or decorative hinge piece to a drawer of trunk. Just my initial thoughts. Could be a wax seal. Can you make out any further details on the bottom?

That was my first thought. I would like to see the bottom cleaned up better as well.

I'll take some better pictures tonight
