Some old silver

Found this at a demo site a couple months ago. The same one that produced the cannonball. I haven't found the exact hallmark yet in my Gorham research, but it appears to be an early one, before the Sterling standard in the 1860's.

I didn't know what it was until my Dad told me. I am curious how many others here know what it is.

I believe it is an olive and pickle pick, used to retrieve them from jars. I have one, but it is a bit different from yours.

It looks like something to do with sewing, like a seam ripper.

They used to make silver thimbles, so I guess they could make a silver seam ripper too.
 
maybe a piles remover or returner :lol: :P
what ever it is its interesting for sure :D
