Me too! Nobody can play the blues like Hendrix! Eric Clapton said that after seeing Hendrix play (in a guitar shop), that he became physically depressed, because he knew that he couldn't play on the same level--that's quite the compliment!

i heard he got the idea to torch his instrumment from jerry lee lewis who lit his piano on fire in anger after bieng denied the position of last act at show in the 50's. i forget who the last act in the 1950 show with jerry lee was though. i am thinkin' perhaps chuck berry or little richard?...
