I don't know if any of you watch the UK version of Time Team ?
It's a programme where a team of archaeologists have three days to do an archaeological investigation. Over here they usually do about 12 one hour programmes a year, which air just after Christmas.

Some of you may (or not) be aware that there is now a series being made in the USA now. I don't know when it goes on TV.

It will be interesting to know what people on here make of it. On most digs they have a detectorist or two on site. Although a couple of the UK team are known to be anti-detectorist.

It's a very popular programme here

I will watch for it over here... could be interesting... I doubt they will have a detectorist on the team here...could be, but probably not. RickO

Time Team UK isn't actually a BBC programme. It's made by an independent
company for Channel 4.

The BBC and Channel 4 do make documentary programmes in conjunction with
the History Channel, and National Geographic.

We have BBC1, and BBC2 which are both funded by the TV licence ( which also funds the various BBC radio stations) and don't carry adds.
ITV, Ch.4 and Ch.5 are independent companies, funded by advertising and other means.

Then there are the multitude of satellite channels.

i would watch if i had access. i just have the oldfashioned rabbit ears. i need to get a converter for the switch to high def.

i do like pbs (public broadcasting station) it is a sort of american equivilent of bbc.

Although archaeological techniques vary a lot in the US, to those used in the UK, I'm sure it will be well worth watching.
