Recently bought 3 boxes of half dollars (3,000 coins) and managed to find 3 ‘64s (90% silvers), 6 65-70s (40% Silver), several proof coins and a number of NIFCs. Plus I found 2 gold plated Kennedys and several error coins.
Yesterday I decided to take the remainders to the bank. I filled 2 large ammo cans with the Kennedys and my recent clad finds and staggered to the coin machine. But before I finished I filled the machine and it stopped. An employee came and opened the machine to empty the coins.
While the door was open I saw there was a box inside the door where all the non-coin objects fell. I saw there were a number of objects including damaged and foreign coins. I asked permission to take them and was given permission. Without looking at the contents I simply scooped everything out and stuffed them in my pockets.
Later I found there were several damaged dimes, some washers, screws rocks and some foreign coins.
And then THE GOOD STUFF.
There was a nonsilver religious pendant and a heavy silver Good Luck Angel. There was a large AA chit. Hopefully the owner didn’t fall off the wagon.
And an earring.
My wife examined it and said she believed it is real. There is no stamp but the construction and the shaft all said quality. I got out my diamond tester and it started beeping.
CHA CHING!
No doubt someone is looking for their bauble. Bet they never figure out what happened.
