Dagger???

Found this on the banks of a river that had activity as early as 1600s. No clue what this is but it sure looks like a dagger or sword or something. What do you guys think?

I'd say old rusty leaf spring.

Bottom of 1st pic shows 1/2 of the locator-pin hole where it broke in half.
