Looks like it's a braided hair LC, she's pretty toasted but I don't care I'm just happy to have found it.
I'm not sure I'll ever get a date off this one but seeing as they were only minted until 1857 makes this my oldest coin by at least 4 years.
Now I know that Tom in Ca. is going to love this....... I found it in a tot lot!
This lot has no matting under the chips, she was in the dirt under about 6-7 inches of chips but only about an inch in the dirt.
I guess I've got to start checking all the sand boxes now as well.
I also found my first half dollar (clad) a 1980 Kennedy half.
A couple more keepers from my last few hunts were a dateless buffalo, 1944 GW quarter and a nice little sterling heart pendant.
