Great weather this past weekend at the South Jersey shore. And after hours on the beech I've come to realize the importance of buying and using headphones. Perhaps this will stop everyone else from shouting "FIND ANYTHING GOOD?"

Having headphones also saves on battery power.

I like having headphones because I require a certain amount of solitude. I can get away from the kids and just listen to the sounds of my detector and chill out.

Nice, headphones can double as earmuffs. Kids are pretty persistent though, so I just tell them I'm carrying around a trash detector.

Hp's also help with the deep targets . Weak signals. Had lots of luck this weekend with the whisper tones.

I just like that they block out outside noise and they don't alert the world to what you are doing. Besides if people (especially kids) do come up to me I normally tell them I am searching for land mines or radioactive material and they need to stay back if they want to keep their legs intact.
