My wife made the weird beach find of the day. A squash with seven pennies in it. We think it’s an offering to Yemaya, a pagan god who is the life-giving portion of the ocean. Sure hope she doesn’t show up tonight looking for her squash!

Sea squash.

I’m cooking/freezing butternut right now. Couldn’t stand it as a kid. Love it now.
Minus the pennies embedded in it’s side.

I'm sure there's no rational reason to that. If a kid has a penny, he will find an interesting place to stick it.

Could be a Felix sacrifice to the surf gods?..

For sure a first.

After i found cigarettes stuck in a dead black drum i dont get shocked by anything we find:lol:

If I'm not mistaken, I recall people putting old coppers in potato like this to clean them. Wonder if this would be similar

You have found me out! I make Santeria sacrifices to the surf Gods for gold in return.

I don't believe you... there is no way you would throw away perfectly good Felix pennies.. ;)

 That my friend may not just be the funniest comment you've ever made about me, but also the truest!
