I have a GTA 1000 Ultra with a basic 7x10 eliptical proformance coil. I noticed that I'm not getting nearly the search depth I need to find older coins on my property (by burying some known coins). I also don't think I'm getting the depth this machine should be able to get, so I'm thinking might be a coil issue. And I'd rather buy a new coil than a new detector!
I'm looking for advice/recommendations on which coil to get for the best depth looking for old coins. Here's a link to the compatible options.
Also, if you don't think it's a search coil problem, what could be keeping me from getting decent depth with my instrument? I know it's less about technique since I've buried coins at known depths and tried all sorts of ways to detect them with no dice. Guesses?
