Newbie here, is this a bullet?

I just got my detector yesterday and was messing around in my yard and found what appears to be a bullet. Sorry for the bad pics. the weight is 25 grams.

its hard to see on the pic but that is a star.

better shot with the star.

cool, thanks. i did some google searches and thats what i thought it was. anyway to figure anything out from the star or is that common?

I am not sure of the size, but the star makes me think it might be a slug from a shotgun. Winchester put out a line of shotgun slugs with a star on it in the 1970's or so.

thanks, and sorry about that. i didnt think about a size reference until after i took the pics. its about the size of a nickel around.

If it is that big, I am guessing it is a Foster slug manufactured by Winchester-Western in the 1970's.
