well i took my 250 for a road test to one of our city parks to an open field picnic area where baseball and people are usually pretty active running around.the area was all grass ,so i just went over a small part of it to see how the detector performs.i did not take any tools i just wanted to see it work.it went off quite a bit usually pointing to iron or 25 cent area and more than 8 inches deep.pretty neat but i will wait till i get my other gear and tools before i get serious...lol.
note: the ace 250 has a built in pinpointer but i would imagine it is not quite the same as a seperate one and now i can see why a seperate one is needed .
