Was about a foot deep.... Found in tarboro nc. Area where I was detecting was established in 1700's. Can't find any pictures that represent this particular item this one has 3 rings as the others I have seen only have 2.

Indian Wars 1870s threw the 1880s 45/70 Cal good find Ive found around 50 of them in the last month here in my area DCK HH

Went to town library came up with similar results. Took it to a few ol timers here in town, one lead lead me to another and came to the same conclution. How would I be able to value and or put a true date on it? It is in show case condition. It's exciting:-)

Yes 405 grain 45-70 bullet. No value. They are found everywhere and are late 1800's to early 1900's

I can find them all over in three lakes here. One where a fort was before the Civil War and the other where a military accademy was also before the civil war. I have even found unfired ones from 1887. I have 3 of them from one lake along with a bayonete
