Went for a short hunt this morning at one of the near by parks....I only found 11 pennies.
BUT
3 were wheats....a 1952,1956 and a crusty 195?
Two of the wheats and the '59 were a spill about 4-5 inches deep.I almost passed it because the signal was choppy at first ....but after a slow sweep it started sounding like two different good signals...so I dug and sure enough, when I lifted the plug I saw the circular imprint of a coin on the bottom of it and one penny in the hole, wiped some dirt off and saw wheat shocks...I swept the plug and hole again and got another beep...pried a little dirt loose from the side and the other two were in that clump.
4 were from 1959-67
the other 4 are pre zinc 70's -1980
I'm not sure how old this park is but I can't help but think there's at least one silver coin there somewhere after that spill find.....
