great story Alan. it will be interesting to see how it eventually unfolds. if the pilot did indeed perish, it would be great thing to see him recognized and properly buried. :yes:

Those are some pretty small pieces, unfortunately indicating a severe impact. Hope they find enough to ID.
In Lake Michigan, they've recovered several WWII fighters that went in during carrier flight training. Some were well preserved in the fresh, cold water, restored beautifully, and are flying today. Some are still out there underwater somewhere.
