Hello to all. I am looking to buy my first detector and was hoping for some advice. I live in Ottawa Canada and plan to use my detector in fields, old pathways, beaches, and in shallow water - if it is possible to use the same detector in all of these places? Any thoughts, advice or suggestions???.

there are a few detectors that can meet your needs. Basically you have to come up with a price range to narrow down the choices. Also , whether or not you want target ID or not . After that it should be easier to decide. I can help if you need it.

If you are looking to buy a metal detector in Ontario. Go to gales metal detectors website. I did business with Herb Gale and was happy with the service and product. He is located in Newbury, Ontario. Check out his site.

You could go with a Tesoro Vaquero all the way up to the Minelab X50. You still need to decide whether or not you want target ID or not.
