Nice button clad, congrats!

After seeing just white on the ground for awhile, the vegetation in the background looks nice!!!!
 
I'm getting the following information from Albert's button book. On page 34 he calls your button the Great Coat button. The first evidence of them being produced was in 1820. They were still being made as late as 1839. If you can read the backmark, I may be able to tie your date down a bit better. Very nice find indeed.

The back says United States with crust on united and little dots around the shank here is a better pic and pic of another button I found

splendid. Love the green patina and the "fresh out of the hole" look of the pix ! Those just drip with age and history. :cool:
