Why sell your silver and gold?

I understand selling them if your out of work or really need the money but it WILL pay you to keep them. Besides only so many pieces of art coins were ever made and once you "melt" them all, thats it. Very sad to me to see classic coins going bye bye, even if they are only worth "melt value". As to the point I made a while back silver has already gone up since I started this post and you coulda had more!!!! But I still beg you, if you need the money, sell them to someone who wont destroy them.........
