Went to my first rally in a long time (of this year). I found the usual rubbish, lots of old buttons, musket ball, and a few old coins in bad condition. Including a George II penny from around 1750.
I did find my first silver hammered in a long time though. Still waiting for an
ID.

Nice assortment of goodies. Congrats on that silver hammered coin. Did you meet some nice people? I think a group hunt like that would be a blast. Good luck on future hunts. : )

Thanks, yes lots of nice people. I'll post a few more pictures tomorrow.
I think the hammered coin is an Edward II (ID on UKDN)
Class II London Penny. 1307-27

Picture isn't too clear, and there is damage to the face.

These are pictures I took with my phone camera.

The first couple are at a memorial to those who flew from the nearby base of Boxted, during WWII.
The others are at the rally. In the tent, the local finds liaison Officer (Laura), was set up to record finds for the Portable antiquites scheme. As well as doing ID's on coins and artefacts. She didn't have the right book to ID mine though .
