Found today in a creek bed 3 inches down under big rocks. What is it? Age? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated my friends! Thank you!

Note. I want to clarify also that it does swivel

Wow what a hodge podge of nearly unidentifiable parts. Unique but I have no clue.

First thing that pops in my mind is part of an older bed frame? Something decorative at one of the bed posts perhaps? Or maybe the end of a curtain rod?
 
Ok i have been working hard to figure this out. I now believe this is part of an old wall sconce light. Early 1900s. Probably right after gas lighting but same styling. Not 100% but i think im close.
