Been a lousy spring here in lower Mich.
Hoping to get out and look this weekend, in the rain.

where do you typically look for those? under trees? along creeks? as you can see I don't know much about mushrooms.

can you sell them, and who would buy them? what are they worth?

Here they are averaging $50/lb wet. Several Craigslist ads.
Early mid-May is when they pop up here. I look for dead Elms with the bark about to fall off, but have also found ‘em beneath Poplar and choke cherry. Old apple orchards are another good spot.
 
I sure do miss those. Hard to find where I'm at in Montana. I grew up in eastern Iowa and looked forward to morel season.
