Today at lunch I was MD'ing my property (I work from home) and I came across a 2 ring bullet at least I am pretty sure that's what it is but the top is missing portions.
It has the whitish patina which leads me to believe it is at least 100+ years old as it is my understanding that's When they develop that.
OK so a lot of you East Coasters will laugh and say oh big deal a Civil war era bullet.. but umm.. I live in Southern Oregon as far as I know we didn't participate Much in the Civil War. so I am a little baffled how it got here.
I have found MANY MANY head stamps here but most are the 40's when the army was here.. In fact I live on the receiving end of what was once an artillery range during ww2 (you think you have iron problems.)
So am I crazy or am I misidentifying this?
