Default Cleaning up bronze watch fob

This is my oldest find to date, an internet search tells me it from the early 1920's.

It is supposed to be bronze. the front of the watch fob shows a man sewing and below him it says A Stitch In Time.

On the back it says A.E. Anderson & Co., Tailors, Chicago.

Found it last week at a small farm in northeast Arkansas.

would like to get it looking a little better and wonder what is the best way.

Don't listen to a word I say, I'm not an expert or anything like it. But I would try barkeepers friend if it's bronze. For the final polish at least.

If it was mine, I'd leave it where it is. A little patina keeps an age look I like. But also it adds contrast and makes it display better.

agree to leave it alone so its contrast shows up. i have ruined a few things trying to make them look better. . the patina also hides pitting. assuredly there is some under it.. looks great the way it is! it will outlive us the way it is.. .......just saying

ps i have seen people just tote things around in a pocket a while, although subject to loose them, and they get a little cleaner after a while, but get worn.

again.. looks great the way it is.

If I were to clean that Iíd get grade 0000 steel wool. Wet the wool, add a drop of dish detergent and scrub IN ONLY ONE DIRECTION! Keep the wool wet.
