If this is your first detector, don't buy a high priced detector, You may find that metal detecting isn't what you really want to do. There are many lower priced ones that will get you into detecting and you can always upgrade later. It's a great hobby, but you can't rush into it expecting to make great finds right away. It happens, but not often.
