Tonight was a night I should have probably taken off but I went back to a location I've been finding a few cool things at. At a quarter after eight it was still low 90s heat index I'm sure and the shorts I wore to try to keep cool mainly allowed flies to bite my legs. Eleven cents in clad, and this rifle cartridge casing. Saw the sharp neckdown and thought it was something unusual, missed the belt since it was dirty. I was really surprised to turn up a Weatherby .270 Magnum in Kansas, pretty exotic and iconic round!

Years ago, I remember a friend had those rounds for deer hunting. He talked about how expensive they were, and how valuable the empty shells were. So, it is a rare find, as most hunters would be careful not to lose them.

Guessing it fell out of a vehicle as it was found in my small town where hopefully nobody was firing a magnum, lol. Thanks for the info!
