Default Another home made scoop

Everyone of us have a little talent. Heres my 1st scoop. Made from a 6" exhaust pipe, a little elbow work and waalaa. Now the tru test will be when we get in the water...

Never used one before itll be interesting.

Its 6" o.d., 16 gauge exhaust available at Napa. 12" piece would probably run about 3 or 4 bucks.

Not too shabby, you might want to weld some sort of foot rest on the back, like a nice wide pad for your foot so it won't want to twist when you press on it...other than that i'd say you're off to the races!

I have thought about the 'foot push' bar/pad and will probably end up doing that. I also thought I might have to put a gusset from the top of the scoop up the handle about 6". Its very sturdy the way it is and not very heavy. I think it will work well but time in the water will tell. Thanks all.

Looks like a quality piece of machinery! And, the price was right. I am sure it'll do you just fine. Might need a tweak or two, but I am sure the price still very right . Now test it out by beating it to death with quality finds!
