Went out for a nice curb strip hunt this morning and found my first silver dime ever: an 1892 Barber (that's right, I haven't even found a Mercury or a Roosevelt yet).

For those curious, it rang up as an 77-80 on the ATP and was 4 inches down.

Major congrats on your first ever silver dime, and a first year barber dime to boot! You'll never forget your first!

Thanks, everyone! I've had a silver drought since last fall and this was the perfect way to end it!
Now I have to muster up the courage to start asking homeowners for permission.

Congrats on breaking into the 1800's! :wow:

It's harder than people think, great dime too!

Woooooooo, nice barber! Came in pretty low from my experience with the pro and silver dimes. 83 is usually the spot for me. Great save my friend

It was a surprisingly low reading for silver. It sounded just solid enough to maybe be a wheat cent. It may have been 79-80, I don't really remember (I had just re-ground balanced). But I'll dig anything with a good signal in 1800's curb strips! :D
