I found a 1776 hammered New Hampshire copper half penny buried right at the tide line at Hampton Beach at low tide the other day. Then I cleaned it up and looked closer and saw “COPY” inscribed on one side. SO CLOSE!

Dayyum, wouldn’t that be something! I found a pine tree shilling in the coin star reject bin with those dang letters / word on it too! Better luck next time to us both!
