The MX Sport is waterproof but I wanted a protective cover to protect against scratches to the display and wear on the pressure sensitive buttons from gritty fingers. So, I made one. I bought a quarter yard of the thickest clear vinyl from the megamart for less than a buck and a tube of loctite vinyl glue for 2.28. Traced the front and back onto copier paper and added the sides and long tails to wrap underneath. I already had the velcro ovals, but a pack is fairly cheap. It turned out nice and works really well protecting the detector.

Here's the supplies and finished product. Added bonus; there's enough material left to make a couple more.

No real glare in use. Work's like a champ. There may be some in the pic because I tried to angle it to be visible. If you zoom in you can see some dirt and grit on it that would have been on the face plate without it. For the money, it's one easy way to ensure a good looking detector.
