Archaeologist around the country are having a fit about the show. You can bet the'll be pushing for new laws to ban MD'ing- period! They have been trying to push bills through for years, this may be all they need to make it happen.
JUST GOOGLE -Diggers TV Show, nothing but negative from the archaeologist.
If the detector manufacturers and distributors think its great for business, it will be short lived until they shut us down to the point where you can only detect in you back yard, after applying for and getting a permit. 
I'm usually a very optomistic person, but this has me a little worried. I've never had a hobby I've enjoyed as much as MD'ing I hate to think it could be takin away with the swing of a gavel.
