Was at the graveyard today putting flags on the military graves. Took me quite a while as I had no help. Come up on a little grave of someone who died in 1930 at the age of 11. They had spelled the name in marbles which was kind of cool they look to be pretty old. Probably was his that he played with I would imagine. Anyway another project I am working on international Harvester refrigerator. It was originally white but the wife wants me to paint it international Harvester red. The compressor does work but there was no gas in it. I am tearing a part so I can replace all of the insulation and if need be install new tubing.

marbles on gravesites

A few years back I did some volunteer work GPSing gravesites for a nearby city. Quite the experience reading stones of Confederate soldiers. There were several graves of children using marbles embedded in a concrete base.
There were also quite a few with cigarette lighters, and other personal articles.

Way cool IH! You must be a youngster, as that's not a refrigerator, it's an ice box.

If you can call 61 a youngster I like your way of thinking. The original ice box was the one that you put the block of ice them.

My wife is a veteran of(15 yr) major in the Army nurse Corps. We have been putting them on for around 18 years .
There are right around 300 flags we put on a few are Civil War. That is the only grave that I have seen with marbles on it.A lot of the newer headstones have pictures made into them with the trade the person might have been in.
