The pic below (ruler in pic to show nail size),,if new Deus users will get themselves 2 of the big nails and a nickel,,and position as I have and sweep left to right and vice versa and listen to the tone provided on nickel,,,then remove nickel and notice all tone is gone.

Try the following settings,,Deus fast program, disc 2.5 full tones, iron volume off.
Notice how low a tone the nickel gives,,also notice how long the tone is and how smooth the tone is on the edges.

Next take each nail (solo) and rotate and sweep down the barrel with the settings above.
Hear the iron grunt???

Now something else to try,,to show how the above settings really benefit you while detecting sites loaded with iron and nails.

Go back into stock Deus fast turn iron vol off,, take one of your nails,,and rotate and sweep longways,,continue to sweep and lower your disc until the nails provides broken tone,, should be somewhere around 6.3 setting.

With this disc setting dialed in, reposition nails and nickel as depicted in pic and sweep and listen.

Next go back to disc level 2.5 switch over to full tones,,sweep the nickel surrounded by nails.

Notice how long the tone is,,next while sweeping,,start raising your disc level slowly,,,notice what happens even as you approach a mere disc level of 4 setting?? Continue to raise disc,,you should notice when you arrive at level 6,, tone is extremely short,,hard to hear.

This is exactly what happens in the field to nonferrous signals ( tied up in ferrous materials). while detecting sites loaded its iron and nails.
