Well, olde KingTotalot has scheduled cararact surgery on His Royal Left Eye for cataract removal, and then 2 weeks later, the right eye.

After having watched a couple of dozen u-tube videos on the procedure, and hearing from a few folks at His church, KT is interested in hearing from forum members! If you have had this surgery in the past few years, please post it here, both the good and the bad. KT values your experiences!

Thanks! KT

Had it done years ago, went smoothly with no problems, and made a VERY noticeable difference in my vision !

Now as far as any surgery, it would be good to know if your surgeon has a good history of success with a specific type of surgery as I'm sure some doctors are simply more skilled than others.

There are doctor review web sites but I can't vouch for sure how accurate they might be.

Let us know how it goes KT ! ….you should be able to see those silver coins so much easier !

Thank you, GKL! for your story and the reference material links!

Yes, KT's eye surgeon comes with very high recommendations and approval from his patients. In fact, the initial surgery will not be until Dec. 5 due to his busy surgical schedule. KT has been myopic His entire life, so his Majesty has chosen to be able to see far distance, rather than close up. This is the common option taken by most, and will relieve KT from needing glasses for driving the Royal Chariot or viewing the sky or watching TV...am looking forward to that! Then reading glasses for close up work. Since KT has worn glasses since 7 years old, this will be remarkable! And reading glasses are no big deal to KT, since He is so used to wearing glasses anyway!

That's great KT !!!!

You could name your reading glasses "ye royal reading and silver coins viewing glasses"

Piece of cake Sire

Had it done 10 years ago. Went from coke bottles to reading glasses.
I do have glaucoma in one eye now, but inherited that. I can drive without specs, but can't read the speedometer.

My doctor has since patented cataract surgury with laser......

Cool, grinsebring! Best of luck with that glaucoma.

KT has been waiting patiently for 4 years for the thing to "ripen" as my eye doc said. Went in for regular eye check and this time the word was, It's time!

Are you going with single distance lenses, or the multi ones?

The single distance long distance vision lenses, according to my eye surgeon, are my best option, and that had been what I was leaning toward...primarily due to my myopic condition. Dr. Really got the Queen's attention when he tested KT's near vision in the right eye. He said, "You see very well out of your one good half eye.":lol: KT was reading the tiniest print on his eye chart, at about 8" from my face!
