Either unit you mentioned would make a good "trashy site" detector. The Cutlass II gives you the ability to interchange coils along with the ED-120 discriminate circuitry. The Compadre doesn't readily allow for coil interchange but the 7" coil can hunt trashy areas well. The Compadre also has the ED-180 discriminate circuitry which allows a bit more discriminate range versus the ED-120 circuitry. With all that said again either unit would make a good "trashy site" detector!
