Two weeks ago I was hunting an old homesite andwhen I finished digging one of the countless pieces of rusted iron I found, I realized there were 4 small armadillos about two feet from me. I remained still and they continued to dig grubs. One came close enough and I grabbed its tail ( which is the correct way to snatch one). But my gloves were slick with wet mud and it pulled free and zipped into the nearby bushes. The others continued digging and then another one got close enough but it also escaped from my grasp. The other two remained nonchalant and I left them alone.
Hope they dug something better than I did.
